We have been exploring many different STEM activities this week online as well as on our own without the use of technology.
This week we have completed a STEM challenge designing containers to hold exactly 293 pieces of popcorn. We learned all about popcorn and created some really cool containers from only paper and masking tape. Kaylie, Kathrine, and Keira created a container that they should send to the movie theaters! It was very secure and had a functioning lid, what creative engineers!
We used the programs from Code.org to complete an hour of code activities which had us making Minecraft, Flappy Bird, and artwork online. Students have received a lot of instruction to hopefully open some doors on how they can use technology to create many, many projects in their future. They will be bringing a password card home next week so that they can access many sites over the summer that we have used during our classes this year. If ever your child is bored this summer, remind them of some of these cool programs!
We also learned about kinetic and potential energy and the simple machines involved in creating roller coasters. We researched many rollercoasters online, conducted experiments with Gizmos, and tried various online simulations involving rollercoasters and amusement rides.
As our year comes to a close soon, please remind your child to turn in all library books as well as their MATH RESOURCE BOOK. Check around your house and in your child's bedroom for anything that should be sent back to school.
    HAVE AN AWESOME SUMMER!!!

We golfed the first timeholes with our fifth grade won at the county level.
    We have completed
mini-spheros with block coding. We also met many fascinating people during our Math Interim End-of-the-Year Assessment. Please look for the resultscareer day and learned of this test in your child's final report card that will be mailed home after our year closes. After our test was over this week, we spent our time creating a Volume City and measuring the volume of our buildings. Next weekpossible courses we will be practicing many more geometry and measurement skills in an extremely creative way with some new robots!
    You should
have already received an email this week regardingavailable during high school as well.
    As
